Overview

《水上市場：波濤中的越南》是一款以湄公河為背景的桌上遊戲，包含兩款遊戲機制。《湄公爭霸戰》內容橫跨越南百年歷史，囊括法國殖民、越戰與近代。玩家需要運用策略取勝，獲得最高積分成為貿易之王。《波濤腦力戰》則是透過記憶，在遊戲過程中學習越南字母、認識詞彙。

"Floating Market: Vietnam in Waves" is a board game with the background of the Mekong River. "Striving On Mekong" has a cross-century past including French colonization, Vietnam War and modern times. Players need to use strategies in order to become the "King of Trade". "Battle of Wits" helps players acquire Vietnamese alphabets and vocabularies through playing the game.

Background

雖然東南亞移民已深居台灣多年，但許多刻板印象依舊留存於大多數人的腦海中。在誤會和困境中，要移民二代學習越南語的過程困難重重，明明有著血緣關係，返鄉探親時卻無法跟另一邊家長的親戚溝通，是多麼難過的事。種種因素下，南洋台灣姊妹會希望以桌上遊戲做為敲門磚，從遊戲過程中讓兒童接觸越南語、也讓更多民眾因為這款遊戲能開啟對越南了解的契機。台灣跟東南亞的連結其實是緊密的，也因如此，越南文化的富饒和美麗需要大家一起來探索。

Although southeast Asia immigrants have been living in Taiwan for years, many stereotypes have deeply imprinted in people’s mind. Among these misunderstandings and discrimination, it’s hard for second generation to learn language from their mother side.
Therefore, TransAsia Sister Association, Taiwan (TASAT) hopes to encourage second generation learning language through playing. The idea of making a board game was gradually developed.
“Floating Market: Vietnam in Waves“ is a stepping stone not only for learning Vietnamese, but also introduce Vietnamese culture to the public. In fact, Taiwan has a close connection to southeast Asia countries. Thus, the beauty of Vietnamese culture shall be explored by us all.
